Let’s drink some GREEN!

New Orleans can often leave you feeling in need of some serious detox from junk food.  With red beans and rice, po-boys and bread pudding within arms reach at all times, sometimes you need to step back to detox and refuel on the good stuff your body begs for!  Try this recipe for a “green” smoothie at home to cure those fried food blues.  Hope to see you on the mat soon!

holly’s green smoothie recipe

Yield: Serves 1

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Use organic ingredients…

ingredients:

*1/2 inch piece fresh ginger, peeled
*1/4 lemon, skin and all
*1-2 cored apples
*5 stalks kale (stems removed)
*flesh from 1 avocado
*pinch of celtic sea salt
*dash of water

directions:

Using a high speed blender, process until super smooth. Eat with a spoon.
