March’s Pose of the Month is Prasarita Padottanasana or Standing Wide Legged Forward Bend.
This pose is commonly practiced after the standing pose series in a flow class. The wide straddle stance helps open the back of the legs as well as the groin and inner thighs. The forward bend in the torso allows the spine to decompress and lengthen.
This pose is rather versatile in nature. There are many arm variations when added that have the benefit of opening the shoulders, and forearms or even a twist to promote detoxing.
Look for this pose and it’s many variations over the next month at Reyn.
