November’s Pose of the Month is Trikonasana or Triangle pose. It’s name comes for the sanskrit words meaning three and angles. Can the identify the three corners your body makes when you practice this posture?
This pose builds leg and core endurance while also lengthening the sides of the body from the heels to the head. There are many variations such as bound triangle (pictured above), unsupported triangle: where the bottom arm is lifted and outstretched towards the front of the mat, or revolved triangle: a twisting version of the pose (pictured below).
We love this pose because of it’s perfect balance between strength and flexibility. Look forward to a a month of flows leading up to and out of this fun shape.
