Sharon Floyd took her first yoga class at a gym in Atlanta in 2003 and immediately felt drawn to the practice, and even more so as she began to learn about yoga as a tool for self-inquiry. She completed her Psych degree at Georgia State and enrolled in yoga teacher training at at Peachtree Yoga Center soon after.
Sharon has been teaching in New Orleans since 2008 and since then, her studies have expanded to include Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga and ancient medical system of India. Underlying this studentship is a strong foundational practice in Ashtanga yoga, set into motion by her teacher, Jessica Blanchard.
She is constantly inspired by the vitality of the New Orleans yoga community and weaves challenges from her own yoga practice into creatively expressed vinyasa classes. Light hearted and insightful, Sharon instructs from the heart and brings a mind-expanding sonic experience to her classes.
